to ti je maksimalni potencijal slada, odnosno maksimalna vrijednost OG nakon ukomljavanja 1lb slada u 1 gallonu vode na 160F. ako piše da imaš max.pts 36 za recimo two row malt, to je na 100% iskoristivosti, kad prilagodiš iskoristivost svog sistema recimo na 75% očekuješ da ćeš od tog slada dobiti 36-25%=27 gravitacijskih poena, odnosno početnu gustoću od 1.027 za 1lb tog slada u 1 gallonu vode. ukratko - to ti je maksimalni potencijal slada izražen u podiocima na skali hidrometra.
